Carly + Seth: Simple, Intimate Vineyard Wedding

What I absolutely loved about Carly & Seth’s wedding was their total number of guests which made for such a warm, inviting, intimate vineyard wedding.  I have to say that it definitely matched their personalities too – Carly is the most caring, down-to-earth person and has a positive attitude all the time, and Seth is very generous and funny.  There were only 44 guests who were invited to witness their marriage and share in their joy!

Whether Carly knows it or not, I think she is part of a new trend which is “keeping your wedding simple” not because of budget or any other reasons but just to focus on what is truly important and to her that was a small, intimate gathering, great meal and lots of fun being with those they love most.  Since Rev.’s Ann and Frank Aichinger have known her since she was young, she decided to have both of them perform the ceremony.  It was very moving and heartfelt as most of the guests also knew the officiants.

She included several eco-friendly elements in her overall wedding style (which everyone knows I love) like recycled wine bottles and wine corks.  The wine bottles were used as the table numbers and the corks were used as the base of the place cards and also for the guests to sign.  She kept her overall decorations to a minimum and her mother created the silk bouquets, boutonnieres and table centerpieces.  There was a soft touch of color added with the ice pink napkins and cocktail table linens.  She also decided to forgo a large cake and instead opted for a simple Italian tiramisù for dessert.

Holly Tate Fine Catering (one of my sincere favorites) prepared the plated meal which included three options:  (1) Grilled & sliced New York strip steak with mushroom Marsala sauce, (2) Grilled chicken stuffed with goat cheese, spinach and sun-dried tomatoes served with lemon buerre blanc sauce with mushrooms and fresh basil, and (3) Pasta Pomodoro – pasta with fresh heirloom tomato sauce with basil and parmigiano reggiano.  I usually don’t reference the full menu but seriously wanted to highlight not just the meal, but also her place cards — way cute:)

The guests and I were surprised and had the most fun when 1/2 way into the father/daughter dance, Carly and her Dad broke into a choreographed dance piece to a Taylor Swift + The Wop remix.  It was the first time one of my brides decided to incorporate this and it was so much fun to watch – even the groom was surprised!

The weather was especially nice for September wedding although a tad windy during set up and the ceremony.  Vivid Lighting did a great job illuminating the Piazza with market lights and wine barrel bases that tied in nicely with clean simple lines.

Let me end with her dress….simply stunning and it fit in really well with the overall style and vineyard vibe.  They are a beautiful couple inside and out, and the vineyard surely looked good on them:)
