Perfectly Simple, Natural Vineyard Wedding: Kristin + Josh
Kristin & Josh’s wedding was simply beautiful! Being they chose one of the newer vineyards, Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery, they didn’t need much as far as décor. This vineyard is so unique – the artwork speaks for itself and the overall eclectic style and natural beauty of the vineyard is definitely a plus!
Kristin chose a lavender color scheme which looked great at the vineyard, and we sprinkled a few personalized touches throughout the ceremony, cocktail and reception areas. The lavender mason jars that lined the landing aisles down to the lake was actually one of my favorites because the color popped so nicely against all the wood. I also really liked her welcome sign and cake topper!

The welcome sign which had lavender and greenery draping looked exactly like the landing area where they were married. Loved the cake topper, Always & Forever, with the wine tanks as a backdrop – such a vineyard wedding thing to do, right?! Kristin opted to have a few cupcakes too which had screen printed floral arrangements on each and complemented her lavender color theme nicely. Her favors were cute little wine toppers which always come in handy:)
Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery also has an on-site restaurant called The Cork Room. Kristin’s family decided to have them cater the wedding and they also served all of their wine options as well. A few of their favorites are:
- The Cardinal (a Merlot blend)
- Tiger Swallowtail (a dry white)
- Tory Hole (a sweet Muscadine)
In all the weddings I’ve coordinated and planned, my couples have never included an on-site babysitter. Due to the nature of a vineyard setting, children aren’t usually invited. This was the first wedding where the couple hired a babysitter specifically so the groom’s sister and brother-in-law could be in the wedding and also check on their lovely daughter throughout the evening – she was soooo cute!! It worked wonderfully and something to think about when choosing your wedding party and inviting your guests. Having a married couple stand in on both sides when they have a baby or small children can be a challenge. So follow Kristin’s lead and hire a babysitter the day of to ease the stress and enable your loved ones to relax and have some fun!
There was a hard down pour later that evening, but it didn’t dampen the party atmosphere one bit. We distributed the glow sticks early to deter from the rain outside and everyone enjoyed a little fun before the send off:)
This was my second wedding at Cape Fear Vineyard, and it could not have gone smoother. We were a little ahead of schedule all night. I absolutely love when this happens and everything just falls into place seamlessly, flowing perfectly. Of course, I believe it’s all of our day-of experience that makes this “magically” happen and not just by chance:)
Last, I just want to say that Kristin & Josh’s families who were so sweet and thankful – my dream client family:) They really made me feel like a genuine part of their family celebration.
A huge thanks to Matt & Kristen (who were awesome to work with by the way) at Pait Photography for the photos! Below are a few of my favorites that I just had to include!!! … the guys were totally ready … super powers included….for anything that may have popped up!!
